Adhering To God’s Wisdom
Proverbs 1:33 – “But whoso hearkens to me [Wisdom] shall dwell securely and in confident trust and shall be quiet, without fear or dread of evil.”
Sometimes, our lives feel like perilous journeys, as we seek a place to call home, a place to be known and loved. At times, we may go down the wrong path. There will be times in which obstacles may confront us. During times like these, we may confuse our search for courage, love, and wisdom with fame, fortune, and status. Humanity is looking for answers and these answers are all found in God’s book; the Bible!
Many of us are looking for security and stability in this life; many of us are looking for moments of rest and relaxation in this life; many of us are looking for a life with fear and timidity. We are not far from obtaining these goals. We can have this and much more, IF we adhere to the wisdom of God.
As Christians, we believe in a wise and loving God. Not only is our God wise, but He is all knowing and all powerful. We serve a God who stands ready to help us dwell securely in Him and live at ease on this earth. However, it is our responsibility to listen to Him and do what He instructs us to do, in order to receive these promises outlined in Proverbs 1:33 and throughout the scriptures. We must learn to look to God for assistance in hearing His word, understanding His wisdom, and heeding His instruction. It is only through obedience will we be able to rest in the security of His grace (Romans 5:1-2).
God has strategically positions us today to receive His wisdom, instruction, and guidance regarding the conformity of our heart’s desire to His will. Our restless wanderings and endless wonderings can be replaced by security and living at ease, when we listen to what “Thus Saith The Lord!”
